Q: What does the term MP3 mean? A: Motion Picture Experts Group, Audio Layer 3 invented by a German research firm, the Fraunhofer Institute, in 1991. an algorithm for file compression, originally developed for broadcast use. MP3 is an audio
format using various compression rates to save disk-space. Depending on
which rate is used, there is NO QUALITY LOSS compared to the sound you get
from a CD. (And it sounds better than records or tapes,

Q: How can I play MP3 songs? A: Use Creative's Nomad Jukebox! Looking back, there was the slight drawback using MP3s so far. You
could play them either on your computer or your laptop, using various
(free) software. But which caller wanted to drag along a computer? Then
there were these small portable MP3 players, which were fine, but didn't
offer the comfort we were used from playing our records on a
turntable.
